RANJITH YAPA DE ALWIS

Studied at Vidyakara Vidyalaya – Maharagama. He won the best singer award 3 times continuously at school singing compition.  In 1970 he passes “Saralagee“ and “Noorthigee“

Audition and did take part in various Musical Programs as a vocalist and studied violin under Dr. Shelton Premaratne and worked as an assistant music director.

1972 he worked as a n assistant director with Dr. Tissa Abeysekera for more than 10 years.

Have composed music for more than 100 popular stage dramas, Teledramas and 50 documentary films with Dr. Abeysekera, Tissa Liyanasooriya, P.H Hettiarachchi, Sugathapala Senerath yapa, Ranjith lal, Vijaya Dharmasri.

Directed famous Teledrama “ Kopikade” produced by I.T.N and did the music direction under the supervision of Mr. Andrew Jayamanna.

Have composed music for many popular singers, “Upanbimata” by Vijaya Kumaranatunge an malini Bulathsighala, “Aaatha indan Kana Koka” by Vijaya Kumaranatunga, “ Mahiyangana Mahamaluwe” by Shelton Perera, “ Thuruhisa Mal” by Chandrika Siriwardena, Hiruras valalui” by Sathis Perera. Currently working as a Music Director for Town Hall Foundation Musical programs.
