A trend-setter in the modern Sri Lankan music industry,Mahesh Denipitiya is highly acclaimed for his pioneering concept of “creativemusic direction”.

He hails from a musical family and follows the footsteps of hisfather, the legendary Sri Lankan music director Patrick Denipitiya. Mahesh’smany roles in the industry include Creative Music Director and Arranger,Orchestra Leader, Film/TV music and song composer and producer, Audio Engineer,Leader of his Fusion and  Function/DanceBand “Mahesh and Friends aka MaFF ” and Pianist.

Revolutionizing Sri Lankan music with the first reality TVprogram “Sirasa Super Star Season 1” in 2006, his most recent creative music projects“Dell Studio Season 1, 2 & 3 and Singhagiri Studio” TV programs on TVDerana received many state accolades and other prestigious awards andnominations as the ‘Best TV Musical Program of the Year’.

In addition, he has been the Music Director for many benchmarkconcerts with leading Artists of Sri Lanka, Asha Bhosle Live in Sri Lanka andmore. His ongoing self-titled concert series “Mahesh Denipitiya Live” has beensuccessfully staged both in Sri Lanka and overseas, being one of its kind tofeature Sri Lanka’s top musicians in the spotlight while bringing out theirbest.

With over 40 years of experience in music and touring worldwide,Mahesh has, to date, worked and performed with 3 generations of singers andmusicians, as well as professional and school vocal groups in Sri Lanka forwhom he has arranged both oriental and western scores. He is a much soughtafter composer / Music producer contributing music for 15 films and many hitsongs.

Mahesh specializes in creating Sri Lankan fusion music whilemoving away from the traditional pop culture to provide unique and innovativearrangements to engage wider audiences.
