Rohana Bogoda

I am Rohana Bogoda from Matara Tellijjawila and studied at Telijjawila Central College I am a professional Musician, Singer, Composer & Music Director in Sri Lanka with about 40 years in the Music Industry of the Island.

Retired from the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation where I was employed as Music Controller for 03 years having been part of the Orchestra as its Lead Thablist /percussionist for 30 years.

I began my career as a Thablist at the age of 26 and joined the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. I have also been a Playback Singer for Singhala Films and Tele- dramas while Directing the Music for 04 Tele – dramas.

Over the years, I have held two One Man Shows namely, “Nethin Netha Balaala” and “Raa Sandha” and produced three Albums namely, “ Rohana Bogoda – Nava Ridma, and “Malaka Suwanda” on compact disc and “Nethin Netha Balaala” and “Ganga” on audio cassette.

At present , I am a member of the Panel of Judges of “Derana Dream Star”, Derana 60 Plus Reality Musical Show on Derana TV, a part of the National Television Network of Sri Lanka. I am also a Justice of the Peace for the All Island for the past 24 years.
