Ranga Dasanayake

Ranga Dasanayake was born in 1972 to this famous musician and is the eldest in a family of three. His childhood was spent in an environment filled with music. Both his parents being in the field of Music, (his mother being a Music teacher in a leading school in Colombo) it was a matter of time before Junior Dasanayake stepped in to the field of Music. Ranga learnt the ABCs in music from his father at a very tender age and continued to pursue it higher as soon as he left school.

He joined his father and was a key board player in his orchestra for several movies produced by Late Mr.Dasanayake. Ranga chose the advertising music industry in early1990s and contributed immensely to this field by composing award winning tracks for both TV and Radio Commercials in Sri Lanka.

He left to the USA in 1999 to pursue his higher studies and came back to Sri Lanka in 2001 as a qualified Audio Engineer. Ranga is currently the Chairman / Managing Director and the leading composer at “Hit Factory” an Audio Production house established by him in October 2002 and the Company through his creations had been able to create “hits” in the advertising arena Following his fathers foot steps, Ranga was also a pioneer in revolutionizing the music industry in Sri Lanka and catered to the young and upcoming artists blending the music of East and west and as a result was able to bring recognition to Sri Lankan music worldwide.
