Ernest Soysa

Soon after my education career at De Mazenod College, Kandana I commenced my musical career in the year of 1972.

From there onwards I joined the orchestra of the famous music director Mr. Premasiri Khemadasa, in which I was a permanent member. During this period I performed with several other music Directors namely, R. Chandrasena, R.Muththusamy, M.K Rocksamy, Mohamed Salih, W.D Amaradeva, Victor Ratnayake & Sarath Dassanayake.

In 1974 I joined the band Super Stars under the management of Mr. A.A Perera the father of Indrani Perera a popular singer. Later I managed the said band under my leadership. During this period the band Super Stars were featured in the most popular musical show “Nandana Vindana”on the National Channel Rupavahini and also “Madurasanga” on the Independent Television Network (ITN). Due the popularity of our band the Super Stars were involved in most of the musical shows, functions & song recordings in Sri Lanka.

As a music Director in the year 1978, I composed music for my first film directed by Titus Thotawatte “Maruwa Samga Wasaya”. Moving on from there in 1980 I directed music in many other films to name a few “Kolam karayo”, “ Nava gilunath band chuun”, “Araliya mal”.

Presently apart from performing with the Super Stars and Directing music, I personally conduct voice training and music classes.
